She finds him in the archive rooms at the local Lighthouse and Museum. But what was he researching? Julian is a historian researching the history of the founding families of Cape Willington but all is not good when Candy walks into the room to find him hit over the head with a bottle of champangue, specially orders by the groom for his wedding and he's dead.
Candy is famous for solving murders in Cape Willington and this murder is no different. Candy soon diserns a game of greed and trickery and land deeds become the object of someones desire. Finding a murderer is the most important thing to Candy so her friends could have the wedding they dreamed of and their town can be safe once again.
This story was kind of lacking and very slow paced, The plot for me was not very interesting, what I didn't really find interesting was the town's history even though it was essential to the story, I just found it so-so. I did love discovering the hidden secrets and it was fun to read of Candy's adventures within the town to find the killer.
I think I was hoping for more about life on the farm because I love cozies that gear more toward the theme and the murder.
Although there were captivating characters and a picturesque setting that is true to the cozy mystery that I enjoyed. I couldn't really relate to Candy that much and found her to be a little bland and that is a very important thing to me if I were to continue reading a series.
