Jamie tries to help her client, Becca avoid any additional messy legal matters. In the course of this Jamie finds that Becca is not who she seems to be. That fact would usually not come to a surprise for Jamie considering her field of work. She decides to leave the case alone but it won't leave her alone. During this she has some hard decisions to make when it comes to finding and connecting with her long lost father. After so many years she doesn't know if he is alive, dead or after some searching that he may be imprisoned.
This is the second story of read in the series and I enjoy them very much. I like how the different plots are intertwined throughout the story. And how a love interest is introduced but doesn't overpower Jamie or the story itsself. Jamie is written so well she reminds me of a friend I have. She is a very honest and open character. It is refreshing. I like how we get to have a inside look of what she is thinking and feeling.
