A Good Girl is the second book in The Charlie McClung Mysteries series, this book continues the story of Charlie and Marian's advancing relationship.

In this story Charlie brings Mariam home to meet his vast Irish family in the small city of Mercy, upon arrival it is over shadowed with a death at his family's Antique Shop. Charlie's brother in law Luke quickly ropes him in to help with the investigation. From there they go on quite a chase to catch the killer of Darla Jean Rogers a 22 year old college graduate who was going into the sisterhood to teach. But throught he investigation Charlie and Luke find many secrets and it turns out everyone could be a likely suspect.

As Charlie aids in the murder investigation his relationship with Mariam evolves quickly and rapidly into an engagement with a wedding just around the corner. But Mariam and Charlie's Ma, Mary Kathleen has everything under control on that front. Mariam also goes through a transformation of being accepted wholey into Charlie's family and finding a sense of belonging she has been without for years since her first love Lee was alive.

I loved this book just as much as the first. I connected with so many of the characters (a big thing for me when I read) and the story also touched me because this time I related to the killer as well, that doesn't happen to often. And the story also kept me going I read it in one sitting. Can't wait for the third book.
