Just when librarian, Minnie Hamilton thought it was going to be just another typical day on the bookmobile, along with her and her assistant,Thessie and the ever lovable and almost human like bookmobile cat, Eddie. Minnie can't help but notice a woman trying to flag them down driving down the bookmobile route. With her giving nature Minnie stops the bookmobile and asks the woman what her trouble is, she explains that her husband just had a stroke, so Minnie along with the man's wife, Barb, then proceed with the help of Barb lift Barb's husband into the back of the bookmobile and they race to the hospital.
To Minnie's surprise, she finds out that the man she helped save his life and escort to the hospital is none other than famous artist, Russell, "Cade" McCade. When Minnie gets a phone call from Barb asking her for help again when Cade is about to be arrested for the murder of a woman named, Carissa. Cade was suspiciously found bent over her, Cade asks Minnie for help to find the real killer so Minnie takes it upon herself to seek out a murderer before someone else is hurt or dead.
Just like the first book in this series, Lending A Paw,Librarian, Minnie and her fun loving and affectionate bookmobile cat, Eddie are the stars of the show, they are a top crime fighting duo in this hard to put down cozy mystery. There are many animated characters, with a really charming setting on Minnie's house boat and the quaint little town of Chilson, Michigan with a murderer lurking. Books about books and cats are cozy mystery combination that can't be beat. I look forward to read and review the next in this series.
