Olivia is the proprietor of The Gingerbread house, a store that specializes in cookie cutters and baking delicious cookies, Olivia returns home from a vacation to find the safe at her store crammed to the brim with unusual cookie cutters that Olivia has never seen before. When Greta Oskarson decides to move back to Chatterly Heights she asks Olivia's friend, Constance to store her vintage collection of cookie cutters, so It is decided to store them in The Gingerbread House's safe until Olivia's return.

Greta has quite the checkered past with several husbands dying under mysterious circumstances. Greta really wants to sell off her cookie cutter collection to fund her retirement. Soon Olivia gets a strange call from Greta, Greta is having difficulty breathing and is in desperate need of help, so Olivia then calls 911 and Greta is taken to the hospital and dies shortly due to a heart attack but Olivia is not so sure. So Olivia and friend Maddie, The Gingerbread House's baker extraordinaire start looking into Greta's so checkered past to discover many suspects with many reasons for wanting her dead and soon discover a killer cookie lover.

This is the first book in this series I have read. Maddie was a favorite, with her baking obsession, constantly in The Gingerbread House's kitchen baking cookies, Learning the history of cookie cutters was fascinating and fun to read. I could imagine tasting all the scrumptious cookies. Enjoyable and down to Earth Characters  made it along with the cookies and murder a really great read, I can't wait for my next adventure with Olivia and Maddie in The Gingerbread House.
