Piper Lamb loves pickles so she decides to open her own shop specializing in pickles and preserves, called Piper's Picklings, in her hometown of Cloverdale. She sets up a booth at the Cloverdale fair to promote her new business along with her assistant, Amy.

Soon Piper finds herself in a pickle when a fight breaks out between Amy's boyfriend, Nate and the the town councilman and all around scumbag and bagpipe player, Alan Rosemont. Soon enough Alan is found dead and floating in Piper's beloved pickle barrel at the fair. Nate becomes the prime suspect and Piper starts her search for a killer and becomes a target of someone's wrath but she needs to be careful before she becomes pickled.

I really enjoyed this first in a series being a fan of eating pickles myself, it was charming and cozy in  picturesque setting. Great new characters, Sleuth, Piper and her Aunt Judy became fast favorites
. It was great but a little creepy to find out I had a connection to the killer. I wish this series continued success and can't wait for the next one.

  1. Great review. I loved this book. One of my favorite new series of the year. Hmmm...You have a connection to the killer? Interesting.
