I couldn't turn down this book because it was about a cat named Elvis. I love cats and I'm an Elvis fan so this book was my first choice and it didn't disappoint. Of course Elvis was quite the smart and cool cat and loved how he got his name, Sarah Grayson owns Second Chance a second hand shop where she and her co workers give all the wares a second chance at a second life. Sarah is teaching a class on color washing furniture at a senior's residence but wonders where her Gram's friend Maddie is.
So Sarah and friend, Charlotte venture to Maddie's house to find Maddie sitting quietly at a table with Maddie's dead suitor, Arthur Fenety. When the police discover that Arthur was poisoned, Maddie becomes the number one suspect and is arrested. It is now up to Sarah and her Gram's Elderly friends to try to track down a killer because they could never believe that Maddie could do it. In their investigation they learn that Arthur has quite a thing for rich ladies and has conned a lot of money out of them.
In the midst of all this Sarah is reconnecting with her friend from childhood and one she had a romantic encounter with, Nick who is now working North Harbor, Maine's Medical Examiner's office and is also investing Arthur's Murder . As Sarah is helping her Gram's friends investigate their friends murder there's no time for a budding romance or is there? Can these 'Charlie's Angels', as they dubbed themselves, find a killer before it's too late.
As you can figure out my favorite character in this story is Elvis, but all of the characters are likeable and very much made me think of my grandmother, it's an enchanting new series with a great mix of cozy elements and murder.
