Black Cat Appreciation Day + Giveaway

It's Black Cat Appreciation Day! My husband had a black cat named Midnight for over 18 years and he was the the most beautiful cat I have ever met. Unfortunately black cats are quite often the last to be adopted, which is just plain sad. So let's have a big shout out for black cats, because they should be the first to be adopted!!

One of my favorite black cats in cozy mysteries is Hamlet from the Black Cat Bookshop Mysteries by Ali Brandon. In honor of Hamlet and Black Cat Appreciation Day I'm giving away a copy of Double Booked for Death (book 1) or A Novel Way to Die (book 2).

Details:
1. Giveaway is for one paperback copy of either book, and is open international and book will be delivered via Amazon.
2. Easy entry with Rafflecopter below.

  1. I agree, black cats are beautiful, but I'd not have any cat in my house...I just picture them with mice in their mouths. I grew up in the country...

  2. Aleister and Licorice, my 2 black cats, agree that black cats are best. Calumet (my grey cat) says they're OK.

  4. Have had two black cats, still have Stella, who's nine. She can open any door that does not have a latch--cupboards and floor level and any that can be reached from the top of the fridge.

  5. My first cat was a black long hair. Gorgeous! A short hair black cat insisted he live with me. Had a black Pekingese too. Black is beautiful.

  6. 2 of my sisters had black cats and they were beautiful, one was so sleek and shiny the other one was a character and a half. My mother had her knee operated on and all he wanted to do was lay on it.

  7. My first cat was black, Inky. Had a few others over the years. Black Jack Purrsian was stolen. He sneaked out and a little old lady told me he was run over in front of her house. Later, I saw him peeking through her curtains. But back then there was no way to prove a muttly kitten belonged to a certain person. She must've been very lonely to keep him. Anyway. I've always had a thing for black cats. :)

  8. Erin's Mr. Sandburg, modeled on our Ruff, is a sable Burmese, meaning dark chocolate with black pointing on the face, paws, and tail. Call him Quarter to Midnight -- but don't call him late to the celebration! There's tuna treats!

  9. My kitty is all black :) Mr. Cullen is a bright spot in our lives. I miss Jacob (also all black) who isn't with us anymore. <3

  11. My first cat was black, except for a small white patch at his throat. He was feisty and loving and I still miss him sometimes, though I've had several other cats since then.

  12. I think black cats are among the most beautiful. My daughter wanted to adopt a black cat because of the rap they get, but then fell in love with a gorgeous dilute tortie - gray/beige combo.

  15. I love black cats. They're gorgeous! If my husband wasn't allergic, I'd have a house full of them.
